Couples Sans Souci
Old-school and romantic: 150 suites stepped down a cliff east of Ocho Rios, a mineral spring pool and grotto, and a Piano Bar that sets the tone at night. Excursions, golf and scuba diving are included, and transfers are included from Montego Bay and Ocho Rios airports.
- Good: Excursions, golf and diving included, and every room is a suite.
- But: Lots of steps, and part of the beach is clothing-optional.

Couples Swept Away
312 suites on Seven Mile Beach in Negril with a 10-acre sports complex: tennis, pickleball, squash, a full gym and a lap pool, with lessons included. Seven restaurants, scuba and golf are in the price, there’s no tipping, and unlike the other Couples resorts there’s no au naturel area.
- Good: A huge sports complex, plus scuba and golf in the price.
- But: Garden Verandah Suites sit near the road.

Excellence Oyster Bay
An all-suite, adults-only resort on a quiet peninsula near Falmouth, with a jacuzzi for two in every suite. There are nine à la carte restaurants plus a buffet and a jerk hut, and premium drinks, 24-hour room service, taxes and gratuities are included.
- Good: A jacuzzi in every suite and lots of à la carte dining.
- But: The spa isn't included, and some areas are for Excellence Club suites only.

Princess Senses The Mangrove
A big, modern adults-only resort at Green Island, Hanover, opened in 2024, with 401 ocean-view suites and 14 overwater villas with private infinity pools. It has its own restaurants, a rooftop infinity pool and a nightclub, and guests can also use the family resort next door.
- Good: Overwater villas and nightlife on site.
- But: It shares the site with a family resort, so expect children nearby, and room service costs extra outside Platinum.

Hotel Riu Reggae
A lively adults-only Riu on Mahoe Bay, about 2.7 km from Montego Bay airport, with three infinity pools and two swim-up bars. Splash Water World and the weekly RIU Party at Riu Montego Bay next door are included.
- Good: The shortest airport transfer, and three infinity pools.
- But: Lively rather than romantic, with planes overhead.

Sunset at the Palms
A small, quiet adults-only resort with 85 treehouse-style rooms on ten acres of gardens, a personal concierge for every guest and a private beach club across the road on Seven Mile Beach.
- Good: Small and calm, with its own beach club.
- But: No ocean-view rooms, and rooms are up 10 to 12 steps.

Best relaxed, simpler stay
Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay
A calm, adults-only resort (18+) in Runaway Bay where every room is a junior suite. Dinners at the à la carte restaurants are unlimited, and it’s quieter and simpler than the big Ocho Rios names.
- Good: Adults only, all junior suites, unlimited à la carte dinners.
- But: À la carte dinners need a reservation and a dress code.

Hedonism II
A party resort with a very specific personality: adults only, clothing-optional and lifestyle-friendly, on Seven Mile Beach in Negril.
- Good: A social, round-the-clock atmosphere on Seven Mile Beach.
- But: Clothing-optional in most areas (clothes on in the restaurants), so not for everyone.
Nineteen adults-only all-inclusives are open in Jamaica now, so the real choice is the kind of trip you want. The Sandals and Couples resorts are built for couples: Sandals is adults only and designed for couples, and Couples takes couples only. If you’re traveling with friends or on your own, start with the best all-inclusives for singles instead.
My rule of thumb: Ocho Rios for the classic couples resorts and the waterfalls close by, Negril for Seven Mile Beach and sunsets, and the Montego Bay side for the shortest transfer.
Not open yet
Several adults-only resorts closed by Hurricane Melissa are on their way back but aren’t taking guests yet, so they’re not on this list. Sandals South Coast reopens Nov 18, 2026, JOIA Rose Hall on Dec 1, Riu Palace Jamaica on Dec 12, and Sandals Montego Bay and Sandals Caribbean Cay on Dec 18. Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall, Secrets Montego Bay and Breathless Montego Bay are due back in 2027 with no date announced, and the new UNICO Montego Bay takes bookings from March 1, 2027.

With so many adults-only resorts open, I picked one resort for each kind of trip rather than listing near-twins: Couples Tower Isle, Couples Negril, Sandals Negril and Sandals Dunn’s River are all strong, but they overlap with the picks above. Picks are based on who each resort suits, where it is and what’s included, plus local knowledge. No resort pays to be listed, and I don’t claim stays I haven’t had.
