JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar, the former Iberostar Grand Rose Hall, is the adults-only member of the three Iberostar resorts that share one beachfront complex on the Rose Hall coast. It reopened with its sister resorts in November 2025, after Hurricane Melissa, and then closed again on June 1, 2026 for a full renovation. Iberostar and its tour operator partners give the reopening date as December 1, 2026. The work covers all guest rooms, restaurants, bars, and the pool and beach areas. The Jamaica Tourist Board lists JOIA as taking bookings, which fits bookings for December onward, but you can’t stay before then.
My take: don’t book the first weeks after a reopening if your trip is a milestone, and I’ll update this page with the new rooms and restaurants once Iberostar publishes them. Until then, guests are being pointed to Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites or Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach in the same complex, but both are family resorts. JOIA is on Rose Hall Main Road at Little River, east of Montego Bay, about 11 miles from the airport, in one beachfront complex with Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites and Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach. Before the renovation, Iberostar listed access to the facilities and restaurants at both sister resorts for JOIA guests; check whether that carries over when it reopens.
