This is my running list of the new and returning flights to Jamaica for the winter season, from late November through spring. Every route here has been announced by the airline itself or by the airport it flies into, with the start date and how often it flies. If an airline hasn’t said it yet, it isn’t on the list. I refresh the tracker every month as new routes are announced and others change.

The short version: almost everything new this winter lands at Sangster International in Montego Bay, most of it from Canada. Kingston gets more British Airways flights from London but no brand-new route, and Spirit Airlines, once a cheap option to both airports, is gone.

New and returning routes by region

Airlines can still move start dates, and some routes were announced subject to government approval, so check the flight on the airline’s own site before you build a trip around it.

United States

Airline Route Starts Flights
Sun Country Airlines Minneapolis–St. Paul (MSP) to Montego Bay (MBJ) Returns this winter; no start date in the airline’s announcement Seasonal; check the airline’s schedule

Sun Country says its previously suspended Minneapolis–Montego Bay nonstop comes back as part of the winter and spring schedule it opened for sale through April 13, 2027. It’s the only US route on this list, because none of the big US airlines has announced a new Jamaica route for the season. American, Delta, JetBlue and the other airlines already serving Montego Bay keep flying.

Canada

Airline Route Starts Flights
Porter Airlines Toronto Pearson (YYZ) to Montego Bay (MBJ) Nov 23, 2026 Up to 5 a week at peak
Porter Airlines Ottawa (YOW) to Montego Bay (MBJ) Nov 25, 2026 2 a week at peak
Porter Airlines Hamilton (YHM) to Montego Bay (MBJ) Dec 20, 2026 2 a week at peak
Air Canada Edmonton (YEG) to Montego Bay (MBJ) Dec 7, 2026, until Apr 4, 2027 Daily
Air Canada Winnipeg (YWG) to Montego Bay (MBJ) Dec 7, 2026, until Apr 5, 2027 Air Canada lists it as Sun–Mon

Porter is the big story. It’s a first for the airline in Jamaica, and Porter says it is the only airline flying Hamilton to Montego Bay nonstop. It announced its Montego Bay flights subject to regulatory approval. Air Canada’s Edmonton and Winnipeg flights are seasonal, so they stop in early April. The Jamaica Tourist Board expects about 400,000 airline seats from Canada this winter, counting the extra capacity from Air Canada, WestJet and Sunwing as well as Porter.

UK and Europe

Airline Route Starts Flights
British Airways London Gatwick (LGW) to Kingston (KIN) Already flying; fourth weekly flight added this year 4 a week, up from 3

No European airline has announced a brand-new Jamaica route for this winter. The change is more British Airways flights into Kingston, which matters most to the Jamaican community in the UK.

Latin America and the Caribbean

Airline Route Starts Flights
Aeroméxico Mexico City (MEX) to Montego Bay (MBJ) Mar 18, 2027 3 a week: Thu, Sat, Sun
Wingo Medellín (MDE) to Montego Bay (MBJ) Flying since Jun 23, 2026 3 a week: Tue, Thu, Sat
Liat Air Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe (PTP) to Montego Bay (MBJ) Flying since Jul 14, 2026 2 a week: Tue, Sat, year-round

Aeroméxico’s route will be the first scheduled nonstop between Mexico and Jamaica, subject to government approval, with flights leaving Mexico City at 9:20 am and landing in Montego Bay at 2 pm. Wingo’s Medellín flights join its existing Bogotá–Montego Bay route, so there are now two nonstop links to Colombia.

Routes that ended

Spirit Airlines shut down on May 2, 2026, and every Spirit flight was cancelled, including its flights to Montego Bay and Kingston. Both airport operators told Spirit passengers not to come to the airport. If you used to fly Spirit from Florida or the Northeast, you’ll now be comparing the other airlines that serve your city; my guide to finding cheap flights to Jamaica lists who flies into each airport and how to search for a good fare.

What it means for your trip

Pick the airport for where you’re staying

  • Montego Bay (MBJ) is the airport for Montego Bay, Negril, Falmouth, Runaway Bay and Ocho Rios. Every new route this winter except the British Airways flights lands here. My Montego Bay airport arrival guide covers immigration, customs and getting to your resort.
  • Negril is about 75 to 90 minutes’ drive from MBJ; I compare the transfer, taxi and coach options in Montego Bay airport to Negril.
  • Kingston (KIN) is the airport for Kingston, the Blue Mountains and Portland. See my Kingston guide for where to stay and what to do.

For the diaspora flying home

If your family is in Kingston or St. Andrew, there’s no new nonstop into Norman Manley this winter apart from the extra British Airways flight. From Canada, a new Porter or Air Canada flight into Montego Bay can still work out cheaper: the Knutsford Express coach runs from MBJ to Kingston. Price the whole journey, flight and onward ride, before you book.

Timing

Most new routes start between late November and Christmas, and the seasonal ones end in April. That’s the island’s busiest, driest stretch, so fares rise fast around Christmas, New Year and spring break. If you have a choice of dates, the shoulder months are worth a look; my best time to visit Jamaica guide goes month by month. On a brand-new route, book early: introductory fares go first.

Questions people ask

What new flights to Jamaica start this winter?

Porter Airlines starts flying to Montego Bay from Toronto on November 23, Ottawa on November 25 and Hamilton on December 20, 2026. Air Canada adds Edmonton and Winnipeg to Montego Bay from December 7, and Sun Country brings back its Minneapolis–St. Paul nonstop. Aeroméxico follows with Mexico City to Montego Bay from March 18, 2027.

Does Porter Airlines fly to Jamaica?

Yes, from this winter. Porter’s first Jamaica flights go to Montego Bay: up to five a week from Toronto Pearson from November 23, 2026, and twice a week from Ottawa from November 25 and Hamilton from December 20. Porter announced them subject to regulatory approval, so book through flyporter.com and check the schedule there.

Does Spirit Airlines still fly to Jamaica?

No. Spirit Airlines wound down all operations on May 2, 2026, and cancelled every flight, including its service to Montego Bay and Kingston. Other US airlines, including American, Delta and JetBlue, still fly to Jamaica.

Are there new flights to Kingston, Jamaica?

Not a brand-new route this winter. British Airways has gone up to four flights a week from London Gatwick to Kingston. From North America, Kingston keeps its existing nonstops; the new Canadian routes all go to Montego Bay, which is linked to Kingston by the Knutsford Express coach.

Is there a direct flight from Mexico to Jamaica?

Not yet. Aeroméxico plans Jamaica’s first scheduled nonstop from Mexico City to Montego Bay from March 18, 2027, three times a week on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, subject to government approval.
