Planning Your Bachelor Trip
Firstly, you’ll need a passport. This seems like common sense, but sadly that sense is not so common. You cannot enter Jamaica without your passport, so make sure you get one if you don’t have one, and don’t forget it at home when you leave for the airport.
Secondly, Jamaica is located in the Caribbean. Most of the locations that you will want to spend your bachelor party at will have direct flights, such as Kingston, Montego Bay, and Ocho Rios. When planning your bachelor party, consider all of the entertainment options at all of the cities, and select the one that suits you best. Flying directly will save you a lot of time, even if it costs a bit more.
Thirdly, be ready to experience a different culture and country. English is spoken throughout the island, but the way of life is very different. The laid-back, relaxed atmosphere can take some getting used to, and the authentic Jamaican food is typically quite spicy and flavorsome and may take adjustment time too.
Map our Your Activities
You need to consider what type of weekend you would like to have – are you and your friend’s adventurers who want to cram their time full of hikes and kayaking, or are you water sports fanatics who would prefer enjoying the surfing, wind sailing, scuba diving, swimming, and snorkeling? Perhaps you would like to spend the majority of your time at bars, pubs, and clubs. All of these can be accommodated.
Renting a villa or staying at an all-inclusive resort are two of the most popular choices when traveling to Jamaica, but an all-inclusive resort is the best value for money, and you don’t have to worry about carrying cash around with you that may disappear if you have a bit too much to drink.
Resorts are great for weddings and even Bachelor Parties!
Most resorts offer great daytime activities like beach volleyball and water polo, all-you-can eat-and-drink enjoyment, tours and excursions, a variety of bars and pubs, as well as nightly entertainment that you and your pals can enjoy for no additional cost.
Plan some time to enjoy the authentic Jamaica by visit a few of the local cascading waterfalls or snorkeling with the colorful marine life – it may be your bachelor party, but it is also the chance of a lifetime in a spectacular setting.
If you choose to stay at an all-inclusive resort, you can easily grab a taxi or shuttle to the local hangouts, where the parties are bound to be hopping. If you choose to stay in Montego Bay, the Hip Strip is a popular choice with an array of bars and clubs, and plenty of opportunities to make new friends. There are also many restaurants and cafés where you can sample traditional Jamaican food.
The Strip Joints
Of course, this article would not be complete without mentioning some of the strip clubs on the island (sorry women if you’re reading this).
For the bachelors who are looking to explore the various clubs of this nature on the island, there’s a lot to choose from.
If you’re in Kingston or Montego Bay, you’ll probably want to check out Taboo. It’s an exciting (and sometimes wild) night club that opens it’s doors at 10 PM nightly. Many patrons enjoy the girls here, and many find it as a nice way to unwind.
Apart from Taboo, here’s a list of other places and their locations:
Shades (in Ocho Rios) – You’ll find this joint just a bit outside Ocho Rios which means if you’re a visitor to the island this may be the spot for you.
Energy (in Montego Bay) – We’ll let you use your imagination for this one.
Palais Royale (in Kingston) – Back to the capital city. You’ll find all the “crazy” girls to bring out your wild side here.
Platinum (in Kingston) – Though this club is in the “business district” of Kingston, the area completely transforms in the night. Platinum sees guests who come just to enjoy an amazing time.
There’s probably a lot more I didn’t cover. In fact, any local readers are bound to think of quite a few others. If strip clubs are your thing for Bachelor Parties consider the selection above.
Your last days as an unmarried man should be the most memorable to date. It’s when you and your friends get together for one last shindig to say farewell your bachelor days as you know it. So make sure you plan exactly what you want and enjoy your last weekend of freedom to the maximum.
