Dream Hostel

Situated in a middle-class area in Montego Bay, just five minutes from the beach, the Dream Hostel is run by Ingrid and her family, who do their best to ensure that you have a great time at their establishment.

Not only is there access to a fully equipped kitchen and a large communal lounge area, but the hostel has free Wi-Fi, and the rooms start at just $35 – $40 (U.S.) per night.

Villa La Cage

This budget hotel is positioned just off the Negril cliffs and offers services over and above what you would expect at a price.

The hotel has a shimmering outdoor swimming pool, free Wi-Fi, and a shuttle service that takes you to the beach. The on-site restaurant serves delicious international food, as well as authentic local food, and the staff members are professional and friendly.

Being in Negril means you’ll have the chance to explore Rick’s Cafe as well which is just around 7km away from this place.

The Bird’s Nest

Just a short 10-minute drive from the Montego Bay Airport, located in the Ironshore Resort Estate is The Bird’s Nest.

The Garden House

Amazingly located within the Port Antonio rainforest, just a short walk from the town center, the Garden House is a quaint guesthouse that offers a calming garden, a shared fully-equipped kitchen and Wi-Fi. The incredibly hospitable owner, Rastaman Rev, will gladly prepare on of his delicious traditional meals at a very reasonable price, and rooms start at $20 per person, or $35 for two people sharing.

Of course, none of the above accommodations offer the same level of luxury as resorts. But if you would like to see Jamaica on a budget, or want to immerse yourself in the authentic Jamaican lifestyle, these hostels, guesthouses, hotels, and villas will have just what you need, all without breaking the bank.
