How to Plan a Wedding in the Caribbean

Congratulations!

You and your significant other have settled on the date for your big day. Better yet, you’ve decided to have your family and friends gather to celebrate in one of the many gorgeous locations in the Caribbean.

While planning your wedding is no doubt a big task, here a few quick and easy tips for making sure your wedding in the Caribbean is one for the ages.

Pick The Perfect Theme for Your Wedding

When it comes to planning your big day, perhaps nothing is more important than establishing your wedding theme. The theme of your wedding will ultimately determine the colors you choose, your venue, and even the food and drink you plan on providing for your guests.

Are you going for a more romantic and intimate feel? Or are you hoping to create a mood that’s more casual and relaxed? Perhaps you’re looking for something in between.

If you’re leaning towards a more romantic wedding feel for your big day, you can never go wrong with pink. “Pink and ivory with metallic touches and the sparkling light of crystal are the epitome of romance,” according to BBJ Linen.

Additionally, you may want to consider having a tented wedding ceremony that adds an extra layer of romance to your wedding ceremony on the beach.

If you and your partner are wanting to go the vintage wedding direction, BBJ Linen recommends: “Look to your own family background, or borrow a theme from any historic era you love, whether it’s European Renaissance, the Wild West, classical Greece or Art Deco.”

Take your time discussing with your partner the type of wedding theme you would fit best. Remember, it’s your wedding, so there’s no right or wrong way of going about choosing your wedding theme.

Choose The Perfect Venue

Once you and your partner have settled on the theme for your wedding, it’s time to choose the perfect venue!

Though the Caribbean is obviously well known for its beautiful beaches and fantastic weather year round, there are plenty of amazing venues to choose from that don’t involve sandy beaches.

If you’re looking to create a more intimate feel for your wedding, consider choosing a venue that may be further away from the more popular tourist locations and instead choose a more secluded area to celebrate your big day.

Who says you can’t celebrate your wedding in a rustically themed cabin venue located miles inland of your Caribbean destination?

When choosing your venue the look and feel of the location is only part of the equation. You want to find a spot that is also able to deliver incredible food, drink, and service to your guests.

What kind of food would go well with your wedding theme? Do you and your partner want to include some of the local cuisine flavors in your wedding menu? Or are you looking enjoy some of your favorite foods from back home?

With your theme set and venue picked, it’s time to enjoy your big day!
