Catamaran Tour

The party begins as soon as you climb aboard the 65-foot catamaran. Friendly hostesses serve fruit punch, rum punch, and soft drinks as you find a comfortable place on the deck to enjoy the phenomenal views as you sail.

As you smoothly sail out of the harbor, you can watch as the coast slips away and enjoy the panoramic views of the turquoise blue Caribbean Sea, while you enjoy reggae and soca music played by the onboard DJ.

You can then enjoy working on your suntan on the open deck, or relax in the shaded areas on the boat as you head towards the most popular falls in Ocho Rios. Depending on the weather conditions on the day you are cruising, the captain will select the perfect spot for snorkeling in the warm Caribbean waters.

The crew will show you a few tips and guidelines for snorkeling, and you can then grab your masks, snorkel and fins, which are provided on board, and dive into the crystal clear water. You will swim over the deep blue coral reefs all teeming with marine life and colorful tropical fish.

Back on the boat, you will pass emerald hills, waterfalls, and historical sites as you continue to Dunn’s River Falls, one of Jamaica’s most iconic landmarks. You will then dock on the beach at the foot of the falls where the water flows into the ocean, and follow your guide on a hike up the cascading 600-foot falls.

As you make your way through the scenic tropical rainforest, you can stop for refreshing swims in one of the numerous lagoons created by the cascading water. Once you reach the top of the falls, you will be able to savor the incredible views of the surrounding areas, and maybe take a photo or two.

When you return from the amazing adventure to Dunn’s River Falls, you can climb back on to the catamaran to enjoy some rum punch or a cold beverage, and enjoy some traditional Caribbean music. The return cruise often turns into a festive dance party, which is often considered the best part of the trip.

This cruise typically lasts about 4 hours, and there are a few companies that offer this Catamaran cruise. The most popular cruise is with Cool Runnings Catamarans, and they offer two cruise departure times –the first being at 9:00, which is ideal for families with younger children; the second being at 12:00, which is mostly frequented by singles, couples, and tour groups.

Remember to bring your bathing suit, a towel, and walking shoes or water shoes. A full list of items you can take can be found here. This tour is highly recommended, regarded as an absolute must-do, and will be a highlight for anyone traveling to Jamaica.
