5 Resorts with Amazing Restaurants

One of the main reasons for choosing a resort over a hotel is the experience. That includes not only the broad array of activities you can partake in but the delicious food you can enjoy.

I’m a little bit of a foodie myself, and I like the idea of having my food right down the hall or down the elevator when I am hungry.

Just in case you’re like me, I’ve prepared a list of 7 resorts which have good reviews of their restaurants.

Moon Palace Jamaica

With five different restaurants on property, Moon Palace offers both local and international cuisine to its guests. For those that love Italian, you’ll want to check out the La Gondola restaurant.

The flavors are amazing and guaranteed to leave you with an experience you won’t quickly forget. You also have the Momo which offers eastern-type food, Pier 8 and Boulangerie.

I could go in depth with the descriptions for each, but I’ll leave it to your imagination – it’s something you have to experience yourself. Be sure to check out my full review on Moon Palace for more information.

Sandals South Coast

With a 4 star average on Trip Adviser and a resounding 4.6 on Google Reviews, you are looking for an experience as a whole.

The restaurants under the Sandals brand is extremely varied, and you can expect everything from Italian, to Asian and the Caribbean.

As one even more critical reviewer puts it, “the menu is “mouth-watering.” And though the décor might be a little dark, this creates a very intimate, earthy setting with a focus on the food. The amazing dining experience doesn’t stop at the food either; the service is exceptional too!

Half Moon

Want some variety in your vacation? This 5-star hotel has six different restaurants for your choosing.

If the three dining rooms are a little upscale for your taste (and they are VERY upscale-looking, with crisp white or ivory linens and dark wood EVERYWHERE), they offer a cafe’ and beachside barbecue.

Personally, I would recommend the Seagrape Terrace, where the only thing that separates you from those glistening waters is a stone fence.

Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort and Spa

After some searching around, I concluded that this list would be nowhere near complete without mentioning this luxurious gem.

When it comes to accommodation, Grand Palladium offers oceanfront rooms with a stunning view. As for the restaurants, they are also a must-see.

Like all the others on this list, there are several different options from which you can choose. If you’re not up for the buffet, try the Asian restaurant which serves delicious meals fused with fresh ingredients. Italian cuisine is available at the Arte E Cuccina, and of course, there’s Mediterranean too!

That’s right; enjoy fresh and delicious seafood at the Poseidon restaurant. And when I say fresh seafood, I mean it is piled on the plate with generous servings of almost anything you could dream of finding.

The staff at these restaurants are also very knowledgeable about wines, as well, so if you don’t know what to pair with what, feel free to ask the server.

La Familia

As the name implies, this is a cozy little resort and restaurant in Long Bay that will make you feel right at home.

This quaint little piece of Jamaica is willing to work with your special diets (vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.) upon request and will even do a Jamaican breakfast in your “bedroom.”

The best way to describe the bar and restaurant is a “funky” style, bordering on nightclub-esque. The main lights are down, but strings of colored lights offer ample amount of light and records are resting on the wall.

Get close enough and try to find your favorite artist! For $50 a night, this is a fun resort away from the “resort” style and prices.

That pretty much covers it for this list of five. By no means is this an exclusive list. In fact, most of the resorts I’ve been to (especially the four and five stars) have excellent dining options. It may be helpful to do your own research before you book a resort. You can check out a full resort list here.
