Hedonism II

Visiting an adults-only, clothing-optional resort such as Hedonism II for the first time can send anyone’s imagination into overdrive. That was the case for me, after having heard all the stories and read reviews online about what goes on there. However, the trip was way beyond what I expected and then some. Read on for more.

What I liked

• Warm, friendly atmosphere: workers and guests alike were extremely cordial.
• Entertainment value: whether on the nude or prude side, there are plenty of entertainment choices, some of which go on well into the night.
• Activity-laden: again, numerous activities on offer for all guests on both nude and prude side.
• Accommodation: pleasant rooms with overhead mirror and all basic amenities intact.
• Food and drinks: lots of variety in food, plus premium liquors and mixed drinks available.

What I disliked

• Noisy: pool area (nude side) can get rowdy at times, but expected.
• A bit of wear evident in bathroom, but there is reportedly ongoing renovation work.

Overall Assessment

With its name suggesting pleasure, and the tagline “Be Wicked for a Week,” Hedonism II lives up to its reputation for being the place of choice for those who want to live a little (or a lot) on the wild side. Although it’s split into a nude side and a prude side, much of the excitement is centered on more risqué activities.

The happenings are enhanced further by a vibrant, open-minded online community supporting Hedonism II. This includes numerous groups (swingers, exhibitionists, people looking to fulfill fantasies, general pleasure seekers, etc.). By the way, while staying at the resort, I found out that going there with one of these groups is actually cheaper than booking as a couple or single.

Shifting focus on the resort itself – the room I stayed in was simply-designed but comfortable. All-white walls were offset by erotic art and colourful accent pieces such as pillows, cushions, and drapery, and the abundance of mirrors (overhead and wall) enhanced the room’s brightness, especially at day time. A stocked minibar, flat screen TV, walk-in shower, and other minor details added to the coziness of the room.

Activity-wise, Hedonism II is a wild trip. First of all, if you’re headed to the nude side, it is a must that you enter in the buff, otherwise, you will be asked to get naked or leave. There are nude pools and nude hot tubs too where a lot of raunchy stuff takes place. I must say, the heights of friendliness in these parts make it difficult for you to just spectate.

At night, there are a bunch of theme parties, all catering to the sensual, from toga parties, to more fetish-centric schoolgirl role play and BDSM-type happenings. Most of the time, it’s just good fun, and the great thing about all this is that nothing is forced upon you; respectfulness is reinforced in a subtle but effective manner.

Apart from the risqué behaviour, guests (both nude and prude) can partake in an abundance of onsite and off-property activities, including tennis, water sports, catamaran rides, snorkeling, scuba diving, and outdoor games. Plus, you can get your relaxation on at the Blue Mahoe Spa or get your heart rate up at the modern gym. Did I mention that Hedonism II is located on a secluded area of the 7-mile beach in Negril? Yes, you can also spend your time lazing about or swimming on this world-renowned beach. Just remember that it’s either nude or prude.
