Frenchman’s Cove beach is a very distinctive beach, often called Paradise, and is located in the district of Portland, Jamaica. Although the cove’s grounds are a sprawling 42 acres with stunning villas throughout.

After a warm day spent on the soft sand at the beach, you can head over to the pure refreshing water in the river to rinse off. If you brought along a pair of goggles and a snorkel, you can enjoy swimming with the small fish as you cool off, surrounded by the secluded Jamaican jungle. You can also have a try on the famous river swings, where kids and adults alike can skim above the water.
There is a wide variety of food and drinks available at the beach bar, including burgers, fries, fresh steamed fish, and Jamaican jerk chicken. The food is served at a reasonable price, the service is friendly and warm, and the Red Stripe is served chilled – perfect for a hot day at the beach.
The beach is kept in pristine condition, with well-trained, friendly, professional staff members providing a great service to ensure that Frenchman’s Cove remains one of the most sophisticated, private beaches in Jamaica. It is popular among celebrities for this reason.
Entrance to the beach is $10 for adults, and $5 for children aged between 4 and 12. Kids under 4 get in free. If you’re a local then you can expect to pay JA $800 for adults and JA $400 for kids.
